Common questions
How much of a temperature drop should I expect?
It depends on how bad the old paste was, but 10–20°C under load is common on cards that have never been serviced. You get before-and-after temperature figures with every job.
Do I send the whole PC or just the card?
Just the card — it's smaller, cheaper to post and safer in transit. If you're not comfortable removing it, send an enquiry and we'll talk through whether posting the whole tower makes sense.
Why are thermal pads charged at cost?
Pad sizes and thicknesses vary hugely between cards, so we charge exactly what your card's pads cost — typically £5–15 — rather than padding the base price for everyone.
